Underpinning and Helifix crack repair to external walls at substantial, detached dwelling

This house showed distress through cracking to the rear wall and rear corners. The houseowner's consulting engineer stipulated that all the underpinning works were to be carried out from the outside only and that high quality masonry crack repair works were required.

As the works were to be carried out from the outside only, an underpinning scheme was designed and constricted consisting of simply supported and single pile needle beams.  The simply supported needle beams were installed at the corners of the property with the single pile needles being used to support the remaining panels of masonry.

In total, we installed low vibration mini piles up to 150mm diameter with low vibration air driven hammers to depths up to 6.5m and constructed ten needle beams.

As approved Helifix installers, we were able to use our skilled site team to perform crack repairs to the property once the needle beams had fully cured.
